How to Read a Before & After Photo

Before-and-after galleries are the most useful thing a med spa can show you — and the easiest thing to fake. Here is how to judge ours, or anyone else's.

Check the angle and the distance first

A fair pair is shot from the same distance and the same angle. If the "after" is shot noticeably closer, or turned to a more flattering three-quarter view, you are looking at photography rather than a result. These are clinical photos taken in our treatment rooms, not a studio, so the light is not always identical between the two shots — when it differs, judge the feature itself: the depth of the line, the shape of the lip, the texture of the skin. Never judge on overall brightness.

Nothing here is smoothed or slimmed

The skin in these photos is not retouched, blurred, filtered or colour-graded. Some images carry our own logo, a treatment name or a caption, because they were originally shared on our Instagram — that text is on top of the photo, never inside it. What you see of the patient is what the camera recorded.

Watch the expression, not just the skin

With Botox and other wrinkle relaxers, the honest comparison is animated to animated — frowning before, frowning after. A relaxed "after" next to a frowning "before" proves nothing.

Expect a range, not a guarantee

Two people can receive identical units of neurotoxin in the same muscle and heal differently. Skin thickness, muscle strength, age, sun history, hydration, metabolism and how well you follow aftercare all change the outcome. Every photo here is one real person's result — not a promise of yours.

Timing matters

Neurotoxin peaks around days 10–14. Filler settles over 2–4 weeks once swelling resolves. Sculptra and PRF build collagen over 3–6 months. Laser and microneedling results improve for weeks after the surface has healed. Photos taken the day after a treatment tell you almost nothing.

Why some categories have more photos than others

Injectables photograph well and patients are usually happy to be photographed. Body, hormone and wellness treatments largely do not, and some of our most popular services — including Morpheus8 and IV therapy — are not represented here yet. We would rather show you a short honest gallery than pad it with manufacturer stock images.
