General & Visiting Us
Cost, consultations, booking, downtime, safety and what happens at your first appointment.
Do I need a consultation before my first treatment?
For injectables, lasers and medical weight loss, yes. Polly West, FNP-C reviews your health history, examines the treatment area and confirms you are a candidate before anything is scheduled. Facials, dermaplaning and waxing can usually be booked directly without a separate consultation.
How much do treatments cost at Sonoran Skin Renewal?
Cost depends on the treatment, the area being treated, and how much product or how many sessions you actually need, which is why we quote in consultation rather than publishing a price list that would not apply to you. Injectables are generally priced per unit or per syringe. Laser and skin treatments are priced per session, with package pricing for a series. You will have an exact number before anything is booked, and current offers are on our specials page.
Who will actually perform my treatment?
Polly West, FNP-C owns Sonoran Skin Renewal and performs the injectable, laser and medical treatments herself. Our licensed esthetician team performs facials, dermaplaning, peels and waxing. You will know who you are scheduled with when you book. You can read more about Polly or meet the full team.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
Yes. We work with third-party financing so treatment costs can be spread over time, with details on our financing page. We also run rotating monthly promotions on our specials page.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online 24/7 and see real-time availability, or call (480) 808-8499 during business hours.
Where are you located, and is parking easy?
We are at 9915 E Bell Rd, Suite 120B, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, in the Aquila At McDowell Mountain building on the south side of E Bell Rd just west of N 100th St. Park in the free uncovered spaces at the front of the building — the covered carport spaces are reserved. From there, take the sidewalk between the buildings around to the entrance at the back. Full directions are on our location page.
What are your hours?
Monday 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Closed Sunday.
How should I prepare for my first appointment?
Arrive with clean skin and no makeup for any facial, laser or injectable appointment. Bring a list of your medications and supplements, since blood thinners, fish oil and high-dose vitamin E all raise bruising risk with injectables. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before injectables, and stop retinoids about five days before a peel, laser or dermaplaning. Recent sun exposure and self-tanner are the two most common reasons a laser appointment has to be rescheduled.
Will I need downtime? Can I go back to work afterward?
Most of what we do is walk-in, walk-out. Injectables, facials, dermaplaning, IV therapy and LED therapy involve little or no downtime. Microneedling, IPL and RF microneedling typically mean one to three days of redness that makeup can cover. Ablative CO2 laser resurfacing is the exception, and you should plan for roughly a week of visible healing.
Are these treatments safe?
Every medical treatment here is performed by a certified family nurse practitioner using FDA-cleared devices and FDA-approved products, after a health history review. Real risks do exist, including bruising, swelling, temporary redness and, less commonly, more significant reactions. We will walk you through the risks that apply to your specific treatment rather than telling you there are none, and if you are not a good candidate for something, we will say so.
Do you accept insurance?
Cosmetic and aesthetic treatments are elective and are not covered by insurance. We accept major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards where the treatment qualifies, and third-party financing.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations and no-shows may be subject to a fee, because your appointment time is held for you and product is often prepared in advance.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
That is what the consultation is for. Come with the concern rather than the treatment name. Telling us your jawline is softening, or that you have brown spots from years of Arizona sun, produces a better plan than asking for a specific device. Often the right answer is a combination of two treatments rather than one.
How often will I need to come back?
Neurotoxin lasts about three to four months. Most dermal fillers last nine to eighteen months depending on the product and the area. Laser and microneedling are usually a series of three to six sessions followed by annual maintenance. Facials work best every four to six weeks. IV therapy and B12 can be as frequent as weekly or as occasional as monthly.
Can I combine treatments in the same visit?
Often yes. Neurotoxin with dermal filler, or a facial paired with LED therapy, are common combinations. Some pairings need to be spaced apart to let the skin recover or to judge results accurately. We will map the sequence during your consultation.
Do you treat men?
Yes. Neurotoxin, laser hair removal, medical weight loss, IV therapy and skin resurfacing are all regularly requested by our male patients.

Botox, Fillers & Injectables
Neurotoxin, dermal filler, lip filler and collagen-stimulating injectables. Below are the questions patients ask before their first appointment. Each treatment page has its own full FAQ.
How long does Botox last?
Most people get three to four months from a neurotoxin treatment. Results begin appearing around day three to five and peak at about two weeks. Expect your first round to fade a little faster than later ones, because muscles that have never been treated tend to metabolize it more quickly.
Will fillers make me look obvious or overdone?
Not when they are dosed conservatively and placed to restore structure rather than simply add volume. The overfilled look comes from too much product in the wrong plane, not from filler itself. We build gradually across visits and would rather you come back for more than start with too much.
What is the difference between Botox and filler?
Neurotoxin relaxes the muscles that crease your skin, so it is the answer for forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. Filler replaces lost volume and structure, so it is the answer for cheeks, lips, under-eye hollows and jawline definition. Many patients over forty end up using both, for different areas.
How are Sculptra, PRF and exosomes different from filler?
All three work by stimulating your own collagen instead of filling a space, so results build over weeks to months rather than appearing immediately. Sculptra rebuilds facial volume gradually, PRF uses the platelets from your own blood, and exosome therapy is used to accelerate healing and improve overall skin quality.

Laser & Skin Treatments
Morpheus8, Lumecca IPL, Forma, microneedling, CO2 resurfacing, laser hair removal and LED therapy. If you are not sure which device solves your concern, start here.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people describe it as a hot rubber band snap against the skin. DiolazeXL has built-in cooling that takes the edge off, and small areas like underarms take only a few minutes from start to finish.
How many sessions will I need?
Laser hair removal takes six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, because hair only responds while it is in its active growth phase. IPL for brown spots and redness usually takes three to four. Morpheus8 and microneedling are typically a series of three, spaced about a month apart.
Which treatment fixes brown spots versus wrinkles versus loose skin?
Brown spots, redness and sun damage respond to Lumecca IPL. Fine lines, rough texture and acne scarring respond to microneedling or CO2 resurfacing. Loose or crepey skin responds to Morpheus8 RF microneedling or Forma. Sun damage from living in Arizona often needs two of the three.
Is laser treatment safe on darker skin tones?
It depends entirely on the device. Radiofrequency microneedling such as Morpheus8 is safe across skin tones because radiofrequency energy does not target pigment. IPL and certain hair-removal wavelengths do target pigment and require careful settings or a different approach. This is assessed directly in your consultation, never assumed.

Facials, Peels & Skincare
Facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning and waxing, performed by our licensed esthetician team.
How often should I get a facial?
Every four to six weeks matches your skin's natural cell turnover cycle. Monthly is the sweet spot for acne-prone or congested skin. In the Arizona summer, consistent hydrating facials matter more than they would in a milder climate.
Will dermaplaning make my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. Dermaplaning removes fine vellus hair at the surface and never touches the follicle, so nothing about hair thickness or color changes. The blunt cut edge can feel slightly coarser for a few days as it grows back, which is where the myth comes from.
Which chemical peel is right for me?
Light peels give you glow and mild texture improvement with essentially no downtime, and suit someone with an event that week. Medium-depth peels address pigment, acne scarring and deeper lines, and involve several days of visible peeling. We match depth to your downtime tolerance, not just your concern.
Can I wear makeup afterward?
After a facial or dermaplaning, wait a few hours. After a peel or any laser treatment, wait until your skin barrier has fully recovered, which we will specify based on what you had done.

Medical Weight Loss
Physician-directed weight management using prescription GLP-1 medications and lipotropic injections, supervised by Polly West, FNP-C.
How much weight will I actually lose?
It varies, and we are not going to promise you a number. Clinical data on GLP-1 medications shows meaningful loss over months rather than weeks, and the outcome depends heavily on protein intake, resistance training and sleep alongside the medication. Patients who treat it as a tool rather than a substitute for those habits do markedly better.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are prescription medications. Polly West, FNP-C reviews your medical history, current medications and lab work before prescribing anything, and monitors you throughout.
What are MIC injections, and do they work?
MIC stands for methionine, inositol and choline, three lipotropic compounds that support the body's fat metabolism. They are designed to be used alongside a structured weight-loss program rather than as a standalone solution, and are often paired with B12.
What side effects should I expect?
Nausea, reduced appetite, constipation and fatigue are the most commonly reported effects of GLP-1 medications, usually during the dose-escalation phase. Slower titration and adequate hydration reduce most of it. We adjust rather than push through.

IV Therapy & Wellness
IV vitamin drips, intramuscular injections and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
How long does an IV therapy session take?
A standard drip runs 30 to 60 minutes. Intramuscular injections such as B12, glutathione or Tri-Immune take only a couple of minutes, which is why many patients add one to another appointment.
When will I feel the effects?
Many people notice improved hydration and energy within a few hours, since nutrients delivered intravenously bypass digestion. Immune and recovery blends work best when started early rather than after several days of symptoms.
Should I get an IV drip or an injection?
An IV delivers a larger volume plus full hydration in one sitting, which suits dehydration, illness recovery, and pre- or post-travel. Injections are faster and better suited to consistent weekly supplementation, which is why B12 is usually given that way.
What is BHRT, and who is a candidate?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy addresses symptoms tied to hormonal change, including fatigue, disrupted sleep, mood changes and low libido. Candidacy is determined by lab work and your symptom picture, not by your age. It begins with testing, not a prescription.
